Meet Crown

At Crown, we strive for a new model of excellence in the beauty industry, one that respects all types of relationships – our relationship with our stylists, our stylists’ relationships with their clients, and most importantly, our client’s relationship with their hair.

We serve clients with high expectations, and in turn, expect ourselves to provide the best environment for our staff to practice their craft. To put it simply, happy stylists mean happy clients.

The Covid-19 pandemic gave us the opportunity to design a salon with ample space, high ceilings, and plenty of natural light. We sought out to create a sense of ease that encourages all who enter to feel like they’re in caring, expert hands. Our space also serves our community by offering and hosting educational programs for not only our own staff, but stylist from across the region.

About Kaylee

Founder and Creative Director

A fifth generation Montanan, Kaylee has over a decade of experience in the industry, and is excited to bring her vision of sustainable, healthy beauty to Missoula. Early in her career, Kaylee was scouted by famed Lanza Artistic Director, Oscar Bond, for The Bond Academy in New York City where she trained in advanced techniques for hair coloring, shaping and styling. While in New York, she discovered her passion for creating styles that minimized or reversed damage and require fewer touch-ups.

Kaylee’s approach to hair artistry focuses on client satisfaction, and helping them achieve their dream hair that looks and feels stronger and healthier over time. On the technical side, she specializes in blonding and sew in weft hair extensions, while always seeking cutting edge educational opportunities for herself and her staff.

In addition to her salon experience, Kaylee has been lead hair and makeup artist on photoshoots for a variety of nationally known brands including: Nike, Adidas, DownEast Basics, and Savannah Bee co, in addition to assisting on national TV commercials for Lane Bryant and Macy’s.

Where We Draw Inspiration

We believe your hair is your crown, and should be treated with the same care and respect one gives a priceless piece of jewelry or sculpture.

Our founder, Kaylee, is also proud to have been the official hair sponsor of multiple state title holders in the Miss USA and Miss America pageant systems. The strength and beauty of these women continue providing a deep well of inspiration to the Crown staff.

Additionally, we are strong supporters of passage of the CROWN Act. This legislation demands protection against race-based hair discrimination in the workplace and in schools based on hair texture and protective styles. We support passage of this law in Montana, and encourages everyone to sign the petition.
